About

Landscapes, wildflowers, and the odd Cambodian temple

My work usually starts fast and loose — ink, dye or watercolour laid down quickly, inspired by wherever I've just been, from the Long Mynd on a wet Tuesday to a sketchbook page from Cambodia or Barcelona. From there I build it up through printing, collage, batik and drawing, and finish with free machine embroidery, so the stitching is always the last layer, never the first.

These days most of it starts closer to home, in the Shropshire hills or my own overgrown garden.

Teaching

Creativity for everyone, everywhere

Over the years, I have learned that my strengths lie in my creativity and an ability to make art accessible to anyone, anywhere – regardless of capability, circumstance, or environment. I am passionate about art, particularly mixed media, and believe wholeheartedly that the act of creating and making can make people feel better, build confidence, and improve mental health.
