My artwork is mainly inspired by travel. I make sketches and doodles of the places I visit such as the temples of Angkor in Cambodia or the streets of Barcelona. Sometimes I am inspired by the overall landscape and sometimes I like the smaller details – a shell on the beach or an intricately carved doorway. I develop my sketches into larger scale work using a variety of media and processes including free machine embroidery, printing, collage, batik, drawing and painting.
